Dhruva Effect: Swamy is Hot But Costly Cake!

Needless to say that veteran Tamil actor Arvind Swamy is the backbone of Ram Charan's latest release 'Dhruva'. He has received universal acclaim for his stylish yet menacing performance. Telugu movie lovers expected that he would be flooded with offers. But, the picture is entirely different and here is why.

Dhruva is the remake of Tamil hit film 'Thani Oruvan'. In fact, makers of Dhruva considered several actors before roping in Swamy as the actor was demanding astronomical sum (reportedly Rs 3-4 Cr) to reprise his role in the Telugu remake.

In the Tamil film, Swamy has instituted an impression that no one can play that stylish and suave villain character except him so Dhruva makers reluctantly roped him in order not to disappoint the lovers of original movie.

After impressing with Dhruva, the actor is now in good demand to play villain roles in Telugu movies. But, will any filmmaker pay Rs 3-4 Cr just for the villain, NO. Is Swamy ready to take a pay cut, Reportedly NO.

Of course he is a good actor but several other relatively cheaper and potentially matching replacements can be found to him to essay villain roles (Dhruva was an exception due to above explained reasons).

Unless Swamy reconsiders his hefty demands, he would lose out on many exciting opportunities in the second largest film industry in India.
