Director to face Court for Twitter comments

Discussing on the petition filed by Vivek Shetty, managing director of Indus Communications and head of Media Cell, Consumer Guidance Society of India, under IPC and Information Technology Act., a metropolitan court ordered Ram Gopal Varma to appear in person regarding the statements made by him on twitter, which are poking fun at Lord Ganesha.

Way back in 2014, RGV wrote that Lord Ganesh could not save his own head from being severed, and therefore would not be likely to save others. He also posted, "Happy Ganpati to morons". The complainant accused that these tweets had tendency to outrage religious feelings of people Finding the same through police enquire, Court has issud process against Varma for offence against section 295 (a) and 505 of IPC and 66 (A) of Information Technology Act.

If RGV fails to appear before Court on or before July 19th, then action will be taken.
