IFFI 2008

The organising team of this year's International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) starting from November 22 at Goa is busy dealing with the various aspects of the 39th edition of the festival and finalizing the movies to be given a screening slot.

The famous film maker Arvind Sinha is heading the jury that is currently watching all the 310 films received from around the world to zero on to the final list of movies.

For the Bollywood premiere section, the jury has received 22 entries out of which only five will make it to the screens.

For this year's festival at Goa which was given the status of the permanent venue of the film festival four years ago, Iran is the nation which has been chosen for the "Country Focus" segment.

John Landis, the acclaimed Hollywood actor and director who is remembered for making videos of pop legend Michael Jackson's songs "Thriller" and "Black or White" is expected to be present for the foreign retrospective section.

IFFI along with Goa Heritage Action Group (GHAG) has fixed up plans to organize heritage walks for the delegates to know more about the culture and specialties of the state known for its scenic world famous beaches.

For providing a live CCTV channel, Whistling Woods International film making institute has been roped in.
