UTV Motion Picture's third Hollywood venture 'The Happening' follows suite to its first two 'The Namesake' & 'I Think I Love My Wife', conquers an even larger and formidable feat at the global box office.

'The Happening,' written and directed by Indian born, ace Hollywood director M. Night Shyamalan and co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures along with 20th century Fox released on Friday, 13th of July, 2008 worldwide and has grossed a spectacular worldwide box office of over USD 150 million so far. The film opened on Jul 27th in Japan grossing USD 6.1 million in the opening week.

UTV is the First South Asian Company to foray into mainstream Hollywood production.

'The Happening' budgeted at 57 million USD was released with over 4500 prints over 2986 Theatres across North America. Plus another 5600 prints Worldwide.

True to the signature style of Shyamalan, 'The Happening' is yet another very intelligently made 'creepy' film. But with a more serious underlying message of global warming.

Presently UTV's first solo Hollywood production 'The Ex-terminators' starring Heather Graham is under production.
