After a protracted gap Venkatesh had finally decided to come back onto the silver screen and try his luck as the solo hero with his movie Babu Bangaram. However with the movie all set for a release date the uncertainty behind the release date of Rajini's Kabali's has his producers in a fix.
Rajinikanth's stardom is not limited by geography. He is the superstar of the subcontinent and hence no hero would want their movie releases coinciding with the Basha star's. For all we know, Rajini might be the only one in the enviable position in movieland, whose movies are declared blockbusters even before they are released.
Babu Bangaram's release was planned for a July 1 release, but when the team found out that Kabali was also planning for the release on the same day, the Babu Bangaram team stepped back and let the super star have his tsunami of audience. However Kabali did not release this Friday.
With no official statement on the release date of Kabali, the makers of Babu Bangaram are in a tight spot as the movie having completed shooting and post production activities is ready for a theatre launch. If the launch coincides with Kabali, it will definitely hit their audience turnout and box office numbers, but if they delay the launch then the anticipation might die out, which would again hit their revenues.
Looks like it’s a Catch 22 situation for Venky right now…
