Syllonni: Determined to reach the top!

She is a national level Badminton player, a successful fashion designer, an exponent of Kathak, a western dancer and a very good painter. And if this wasn't enough of an introduction to this gorgeous looking girl, she is all set to become India's latest musical sensation with the launch of her self-named debut album. Syllonni, the enchantress with a velvet voice is here to reign over hearts and reach out to achieve yet another dimension to her persona. Brought up in Delhi, Syllonni had her upbringing in a family of sports persons, where the value of discipline and hard work are always a premium.

Syllonni learnt the nuances of a disciplined life under her father, an Olympian, who ingrained in her the art to successfully master any competition in the real world. This talented girl went on to learn the basics of music at the Gandharva Mahavidayala and continues to learn under the tutelage of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan and Pandit Satya Narayan Mishra. Says Syllonni, "Music is God gifted, it comes from the soul and the guru polishes your vocals and helps you stay focused. For me music is my first love as it brings me closer to God. Music makes me feel positive and full of energy. Music & sports were challenging since childhood. My interest in sports is because of my up bringing. But music is where my soul lies".

Syllonni's first album 'Syllonni' released by Universal Music here yesterday (20 March) has 8 songs which includes 2 re-mix songs by DJ Akbar Sami. The music has been scored by Richard Kaashi, a close associate of noted music directors Jatin-Lalit, while Shyam Anuragi, Salim Bijnori and Vibha have penned the songs. Her first video has been shot in snow bound valleys of Manali & Shimla. The music video is nothing less than a freshly painted exotic work of a master painter.

In this era of competition Syllonni is a step ahead of her fellow competitors. She is already getting plum offers for singing in films. "A memorable song is one which is rendered from heart and which goes straight to the heart of listeners." Syllonni is in love with colors, because colors play significant role in our lives and make us feel beautiful from within. Every human being also has different shades of personalities within them selves. Inspired by this thought, "Syllonni" the album cherishes many shades and rhythms. The album is a perfect blend of musical cultures with a touch of western Arabic, Jazz, Punjabi beat and fusion.
