A Chennai based music company is all set to release a unique album that has patriotic songs set in different tunes. The album is conceptualized and produced by SEA RECORDS, Chennai. It has many distinctive names like S.P. Balasubramaniam, and Unnikrishnan.
The highlight of the album is that it renders the famous Vande Mataram song in three different versions treated in three different musical genres. The fact that the album has had the full version of the song gains importance given the fact that the song is not rendered in its complete version anywhere.
The album would feature various genres of Music including Indian Classical, Rap, Rock, and Jazz & Pop all conveying one common predicament India & Integration. All tracks produced will be in Hindi, English, Sanskrit & Bengali (Vande Mataram).
Talented singers including the legendary S.P. Balasubramaniam have sung in the album. Apart from SPB, it has contributions from Blaaze, Sunitha Sarathu, Unnikrishnan, Chinmayee, and Gopika Poornima. Interestingly, the album has made the kids who were the winners of The Airtel Super Singer Reality series sing in the album.
The Songs that have been set to tunes in the album include Vande Mataram, Raghupathi Raghava Raja Ram and Vaishnava Janato.
Vande Mataram is rendered in the Indian Classical Genre with a few modern elements introduced. Three different versions of the song are rendered in the album. While SPB sings the invocation, Sunitha Sarathy, who is considered as Indian answer to Celine Dion, sings another version. Here, the traditional Vande Mataram is spun around the English meaning of the soul of Vande Mataram, which is inspired by the writings of Sri Aurobindo.
Classical singer Unnikrishnan sings the complete version of Vande Mataram. You also have the kids (winners of Airtel Super singers) rendering another version of the same song.
The date for the release of this album is yet to be decided.
