YVS says his movie is unique

YVS Choudhary held a press conference today morning to talk about his latest film 'Okka Magadu'. Post release, YVS has been trying to clarify his stand and this was another attempt at trying to tell the media that his film was indeed doing well and that it was getting good response from various audiences.

The extensive hype was to be blamed to the initial remarks made following the midnight screening of the film, he said. However, now the audience was seeing the movie the way he had conceived in his mind, and liking it tremendously, he said. Most importantly, the social message they had wanted to give through the film had reached the masses and that was reason enough for him to rejoice, he said.

Contrary to reports in media, the flashback segment was what was being liked by Balaiah's fans, he said. The way the pre-Independence era was recreated is getting him a lot of appreciation, added YVS. He time and again reiterated the fact that it was sheer coincidence that his film was similar to another film. He said the misunderstanding happened as similar make-up techniques had to be used, given the storyline that goes back and forth.

The main focus of his film was to highlight the value of human life and YVS says that it was the peg on which his 'Okka Magadu' was based. 'To add a realistic touch, I took my team to America and got them trained to do the right kind of make-up, despite the high costs. So it is not right to draw parallels with any other film,' says he. Incidentally, Balakrishna loved the film after watching it.

In response to the other criticism leveled against him, YVS justified the songs and their picturisation, saying he did whatever he did in the film in keeping with the film's story and the needs of the present day audience.

It is all about perception, says YVS. He blamed the critics for jumping to conclusions and misguiding the audience. He cited a lot of examples to say that it is sometimes natural to find similarities in scripts. But he said that it was the media that blew these similarities out of proportion. Though the genre is similar to Bharateeyudu, YVS insists his film is no way related to the film, just because certain elements are similar.

Finally, in conclusion, YVS Choudhary was of the opinion that Balakrishna looked his best in Okka Mogadu and that his film was one of its kind film.
